Lafrowda Club Update
Last time we posted a general update from the Lafrowda Club it was to wish you all a happy Christmas. Now it’s a new year, spring has arrived, and the country is getting ready to celebrate VE Day.
A lot has happened at the club since in the past few months. Behind the scenes our plans are moving forward, while front of house there has been a wide variety of events and activities.
We are in the process of engaging a new legal team and have strengthened our committee, bringing in the skills and expertise we need to turn our development proposals into reality.
Overall our events programme continues to go from strength to strength. Since Christmas there have been six events ranging for choirs to a funk soul evening.
On Saturday 3 May we shall be celebrating VE Day. Get out your demob clothes and swing along to the big band sounds of 1940s. Then during the following week our archive team will be sharing stories of WW2 in St Just with local schools.
Our summer plans include a community event celebrating three years since our first open day consultation; a fine arts, crafts and makers market; and a series of musical events with artists from across the west country.
We continue to welcome groups and individuals to rent the hall space. Recently we have been joined by Coast FM who will soon be broadcasting from the club.
None of this could have been achieved without the amazing support of the local community.
Big thank you to the people of St Just
