A Photographic History of St Just in Penwith
The committee of the Lafrowda Club are very pleased to welcome the inhabitants of St Just and west Cornwall to our first exhibition. We have kindly been given access, by the Eddy family of St Just, to the Jack Kevern Collection of photographs, dating from the late 1800s to the early 1970s. This fascinating and unique collection images documents the ordinary lives of the special people of our community who have lived and worked on the edge of our proud county.
In this exhibition we are featuring the People and Places of St Just and its neighbours.
We are also showcasing a selection of mid century landscape photographs from Philip Corduroy kindly lent by Philipa and David James.
The doors open on the 9th of December from 1 o’clock, culminating in the evening with the turning on of the St Just Christmas Lights, the Chapel’s beautiful starlit Christmas Tree display and late night shopping. Carols, mulled wine and jollity for one and all.
